As a rule, water cooling should not only provide excellent performance, but also allow individual design. Style and function are therefore equally in demand for corresponding Wakü components. EK Water Blocks has now designed a useful extension for its own EK-Vector RTX 2080/2080 Ti cooler series that combines both aspects.

A backplate ensures greater stability and better appearance This is a backplate for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards in reference design. It can only be used in conjunction with a matching EK Water Blocks cooler and is screwed onto the back of the pixel accelerator. As this page is usually turned upwards and thus looks good in the case, a visual upgrade is much more effective here than on the front side of the graphics card.

To fulfill this task perfectly, a small EK logo was placed on the black, anodized aluminum plate and additionally engraved the graphics card name as a lettering. In addition to the visual enhancement, the backplate also offers greater stability. This effectively prevents the PCB from bending as a result of unilateral tightening of the screws when attaching the main radiator, thus permanently exposing it to stress.

The backplate is not compatible with the graphics card original cooler, is not flowed through by water, is not primarily intended as a heat sink and can not be used individually. However, it is fully usable with the matching coolers from EK Water Blocks. The required screws are included. These are longer than the original screws, as they must be bolted through the backplate and the PCB to the main radiator.
